I wanted to share a great activity from Learnyour tables.co.uk that will help students practice and reinforce their multiplication tables. There are three options available for practice including 1. Drag and drop- drag equation to match the answer 2. Enter an Answer- provides an equation with keyboard to enter an answer and 3. Assessment- same as Enter an Answer however it gives you a score at the end.  In addition you can practice either single or mixed tables.  The Drag and drop option works very well on the SMARTBoard. ENJOY!

red-sox.jpgIn honor of the start of Red Sox Fever, I thought it appropriate to share a website that I have found to be very motivating and fun, when reviewing & reinforcing addition and multiplication skills… Batter’s Up Baseball.  This game is very user friendly, mimicking a baseball game– sound affects and all!  It also works great with the SMARTBoard- an added plus, in Notebook 10, is that  you can easily access the on-screen calculator for those students who require that assistance. Directions from the site…

“After you select the pitchers challenge, a screen will come up with a math problem. Get the answer right and you move your men around the bases. Get it wrong and you get a strike. Three strikes equals an out.  If you get 3 outs the game is over.”

So as the song says….take me out to the ball game!!!
