Sharing SMART Board successes

“Together we CAN make a difference”

I am very proud of the work that my students have been able to accomplish using the SMART Board. This page is dedicated to their continued “never give-up” attitude.  Click on their names to see the videos.

This video demonstrates the power of the SMART Board– a 16year old student, Rhasheen who entered my classroom without the ability to write is now writing his initials. After practicing drawing lines and circles on the SMART Board with his finger, he began writing his initials, progressing  to using the SMART pens and ulitmately writing his initials using a paper and pencil.  Needless to say this was a HUGE success and one of those teacher moments I’ll NEVER forget.

This video will demonstrate how I incorporate using the SMART Board with a website. As you will see- we are using the website Rainforest Maths and Richard is moving the words to indicate short and long. Given verbal cues from me, indicating the word meanings, Richard is able to complete this activity-AWESOME!!

This video demonstrates how I use Notebook and some of those wonderful interactive features. Here you will see Michael using the dice to write an addition equation. I love this sample because it shows how my students are learning to self-correct-YEAH!

This is another example of a student using an interactive website, Little Fingers, to count. She was asked to touch the correct number of animals as indicated by the number that appeared on the screen- in this case 3.  She then touched the check mark to see if she was correct!
