What Time is It? September 2, 2008

A few folks have asked me if I have any suggestions about sites that teach/review telling time using analogue clocks. I have a few sites that I’ve used in the past -all working well with the SMARTBoard. Clock Work the Time Telling Game displays three clocks- students should read the sentence above the clocks and then click on the clock that displays the correct answer. The next site is the clock activity from Ambleside Primary School. Using the icons in the “Move the Hand” box you can set the clock and ask students to tell you the time or you an ask the students to set the clock to a specific time. The site Clock Talk is a fun site- mostly because of “Mrs. Clock” who gives you a time, describes what might happen at that time and then asks you to move the hands of the clock to designate that time. The next site, Stop the Clock, challenges students to match five digital times to the correct analog clock and times your work. Another site that challenges students to match digital times with an analogue clock is What Time is It?. Students are shown four digital clocks and have to match the correct time to the analog clock. Hope these site help– ENJOY!

Thanks! I plan on sharing this post with my colleagues. My 2nd graders can get extra practice at home with some of these sites. Thanks.
